GUEST POST FROM “EARL” ..  aka my other half, who has decided to test the blogging waters – writing about adventures and our life from “A BLOKES POINT OF VIEW” :

Well what a lovely weekend, we were certainly blessed with the weather in Sussex and Monday was especially gorgeous, so we thought that we would give Mum the day off and take a trip to the local Angmering Oval Raceway, as I had heard through the grape vine that there was going to be a retro bashing spectacular…  Top Gear eat your heart out!

We arrived about an hour before the first race and got a cracking spot parked up right next to the track..  with luxury grand stand seating (the BOOT) and extensive hospitality services (packed lunch and ice cream van) we where set for a days banger racing…

The first ice cream was consumed before even the 1st race .. so we knew we were in for a good day!

Once I had removed my ‘health and safety’ cap (Note the Keep Away from the fence sign being totally ignored by the spectators) we settled down to see what they had in store...   safely hidden in the boot we waited for the first race.

All in all the various events kept us on our toes and the racing was exciting and the day packed with different categories  which the kids loved.  Libby’s favourite of the day was from the Junior Prods race – mainly because it was bright pink and went under the name of BARBIE with a 11yo girl driving!

They saved the best till last, with the caravan race and demolition derby at the end of the day around 5pm.  It was like watching “you’ve been framed” live ..

So ok, it was a little rough round the edges, and yes the safety marshalls were a little scarce.. and ladies you may not like the loos – but honestly it was the best £12 family day out we have had in a long time.  We didn’t stop laughing all day.  Good times indeed.
