Mollie Makes – A new crafty mag

The publishers of Cross Stitcher Magazine, where I have a monthly column, are key players in the craft publishing market.  They have a portfolio of craft titles with No 1 slots in most of their fields.
So it was interesting to hear of a new title in the pipeline… there was rumour of a ‘premium title’ that covered the trend for contemporary hand made, and had a more ‘bookzine’ feel to it.  A ‘handbook for the Etsy generation’ so to speak.
So it was with interest that I read Jane Toft‘s (the art director on the mag) blog yesterday, officially launching MOLLIE MAKES…  she said:
“It’s not a project book (athough we do have projects, never fear), more a beautifully printed keepable version of all the eye candy and inspiration found on design blogs, Etsy and Flickr. We have crafty guides to a different city each month, plus sewing cafes, amazing stores to visit and places to go. Oh, and an inspirational home tour too.”
It goes on sale on May 12th …  but for now they are seeking designers and makers of all hand made crafts to speak to them about contributing to their magazine.  I have, of course, already put my own ‘hat in the ring’ but if you are interested then simply email them at
Welcome Mollie…  we look forward to your launch.
