DMC is considered the premium stranded cotton yarn used in both traditional cross stitch and embroidery. Jacqui has always used them for their breadth and depth of colour and quality of thread.
These are skeins in our selected colours which are similar to our wool yarns for translating into different bases. Cotton threads can be split into strands (there are 6 strands per thread) whereas wool is used in whole threads and strands are not split.
EG: 10 count evenweave cross stitch with 2 threads for a finer looking cross stitch. The choice is up to you.
We only use British wool in our kits and our wool of choice is Appletons. It is British wool spun and dyed and supplied here in the UK. Used by William Morris for his iconic tapestries and by Jacqui for her modern wool supersize stitch technique.
All the wool is ordered by our team in bulk in our favoured colours. We then cut, split and hand twist each hank with our own crafty hands.
