CHRISTMAS 2022 & ROYAL MAIL STRIKES

OUR LAST CHRISTMAS ORDERS WERE CUT OFF DUE TO THE CLEAR IMPACT OF THE STRIKES ON 2ND DECEMBER 2022

BUT .. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE DELIVERY TIMESCALES AS THEY ARE TAKING A LOT LONGER

Royal Mail Strikes

We use ROYAL MAIL which is normally a reliable service, with an account, which many Small Businesses, like us,  rely on. 

STANDARD shipping is either a Tracked or First Class - normally 1-3 days delivery

HOWEVER THEY HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT STRIKES SINCE OCTOBER 2022 

They have also changed their collection service from our rural location


THIS HAS HAD A DETRIMENTAL AFFECT ON BOTH THE TRACKING & DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES

THERE IS A BACKLOG - BUT THEY ARE DELIVERING 


We recommend you choose a SAFE PLACE with the Royal Mail App / Online or with your local Depot

What is standard delivery?

Standard Delivery is Tracked 48 on larger items, First Class on small up to large letter and Tracked and Signed on international.  

Delivery is normally 1-4 business days after dispatch and 5-7 on international

BUT THIS IS MUCH LONGER AT THE MOMENT DUE TO THE NORMAL SEASONAL PRESSURES - ALSO COMPOUNDED BY STRIKES

This is a major incident which out of our control 

What about Christmas delivery?

We cut off Christmas at the end of November when it was clear that there were significant issues building

As per our terms we cannot guarantee the timeline of third party delivery, particularly when there is a major incident such as the strikes and of course the severe snow in some areas, compounded by Christmas.

We upgraded every order raised after Black Friday to Tracked 24 from Tracked 48 (at our own cost)

We have seen that this is taking 2-14 + business days to arrive .. sometimes longer and sometimes quicker

Rest assured it is on its way.

We would suggest you use the Royal Mail SAFE PLACE to ensure that the item is left where you require it to be. This can be found online or via your tracking link.


We are suspending top ups until the post has recovered in the New Year

Where is my order? ..  How can I track it?

We raise the postal label at the point of making your order.  As kits are made to order.

We then dispatch the order on the system, either just before collection or after we have taken your order to the depot directly.

At this point an auto email is sent to you directly with a link to the Royal Mail site and your tracking details

Tracking is normally updated as it moves through the postal system.  It is not always updated in REAL time - and we have noticed that (particularly over Black Fridays surge) they are not updating the tracking until the item is delivered.  We have no control over this.


Please note we cannot refund items that are made to order and are en route. We also cannot resend items that are made and en route via the delivery system.




What can I give my recipient 

If you ordered after our cut off, or have an order delayed in the post system, we have created a graphic downloadable A4 PDF for you to print off and wrap to extend the Christmas Joy and show that your gift is on the way!

Can I email?

Our email volumes have been much higher due to the issues with Royal Mail.  

WE APPRECIATE ALL YOUR UNDERSTANDING IN ANY DELAYED RESPONSE and thank you for your support and kindness during these difficult times.

The Studio is closed and will not be on email over the Christmas Holidays 

You can track your order directly on Royal Mail as we have the same information as is online

Our Delivery Information (see also our terms)

  • We normally ship via First Class on small items and Tracked on kits and larger orders (incl yarn)
  • We ship international tracked and signed on shipments up to 2kg - anything over this is at courier cost
  • Kits are MADE TO ORDER
  • We aim to dispatch non personalised goods as quickly as possible subject to stocks
  • We aim to dispatch kits which are made to order within 1-10 business days, depending on current demand.  It can be longer at busier periods
  • Custom makes will have different lead times if they are hand made.
  • Crafteratti Club ships all together, usually on a Thursday toward the end of the month
  • Express cut off for same day dispatch is 11am on business days only - otherwise it will fall onto the next business day
  • Framing takes an additional 5-10 days as it is with an external framer, we cannot ship this express or internationally

STANDARD DELIVERY

Orders received through the Website for delivery to UK addresses will usually be processed and dispatched within two (2) to ten (10) working days, subject to availability of the Goods.  We endeavour to dispatch same day if we can, but this is not guaranteed. At Christmas or other peak times processing may take longer, and we recommend express delivery if you are working toward a specific date. We generally use Royal Mail services for dispatch - and all delivery costs include postage, packaging, and packing administrative charges. First class is generally 1-2 days for delivery after dispatch but they ask to allow for up to 10 working days. Royal Mail does not take instruction on where to leave packages.  

Larger orders and most kits are sent via a standard tracked service (2-3 business days) as standard and you will receive tracking information at dispatch.

We recommend you use the ROYAL MAIL Safe Place option 

MADE TO ORDER / PERSONALISED / FRAMING

Made to Order, Personalised or Framed items or those products of a bespoke or special order nature are usually delivered within two (2) to ten (10) days of your order being placed. Personalised prints are usually dispatched as standard prints but Framing is an additional seven (7) to ten (10) working days on top.  At peak times these lead times may be extended. All bespoke or personalised kits (unless specified otherwise) are classed as made to order.  Other bespoke items may take longer and up to 30 days, please ask if you have any enquiry.
Hand made items (like knits) depend on the item and demand

EXPRESS

We offer an express delivery service for orders for delivery within the mainland UK.   Expedited deliveries are RM 24 Tracked which is not guaranteed but generally arrives the next day. We will ship via this method on the same day if your order is available and received before 11am.
This option if available can be selected when you proceed through the checkout stages of the Website.  Express Delivery orders will normally be delivered within 24 hours (or 2 business days, which ever is the longer) if your order is placed on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday that is not a public holiday (“a Business Day”), subject to availability of the Goods. Orders not placed on a Business Day will normally be delivered within 24 hours of the next Business Day. This is not applicable to made to order items.

Premium Guaranteed services use a courier or Special Delivery pre - 1pm depending on the package.  We do not offer Saturday delivery, unless this is shown. When selected we use Special Delivery or a courier Saturday delivery.
On all Express Services - the cut of time for that day is 11am. We cannot offer timed delivery slots. If no one is there to sign for the goods we reserve the right to charge for redelivery.
If an express service is selected and we cannot expedite your order, we will let you know and cancel the expedited element of your postage and revert the order to current standard delivery times.

Express is sometimes taken off line at peak times or during holidays as we are only a small team.


INTERNATIONAL

We do accept international orders to some destinations and the shipping costs reflect this. For delivery to addresses outside of the mainland UK delivery charges are calculated by territory. We ship via International Air Tracked or Signed For or an equivalent service. Their service times vary according to destination but are normally within 14-21 days, but we have known them to be as fast as 2 days, although this is not guaranteed!

Tracking details will be emailed at point of dispatch to you.  The flat fees quoted include packaging, packing and postage and we do have weight and size restrictions. Postal calculations may be amended subject to final order weight. Customers are liable for all local taxes and duties levied, and any non payment and therefore return of goods will be at the customers cost.
